Quranic Arabic is also known as Classical Arabic or Fusha (most eloquent).

It is used for speaking, speeches, films, plays, cartoons, prayers, supplications, contracts and transactions, history books, books of law etc.

The importance of this form of Arabic is very influential to Muslims as it is this Arabic that Muslims use for reading the Quran and praying, saying duas, reading/quoting hadeeth, and reading history.

There are several ways to learn to read/recite the Quran. Some people prefer one method whilst others use a variety of ways to learn. Some people learn via transliteration, some listen to audios, repeat and memorise what they hear. Other people use books that gradually take you through the various rules of reading Quran and there are other ways too.

People want to learn the Quran for many different reasons. It could be because of the blessings of just reading the Quran or because of the feeling of being able to complete the Quran over and over again in the original Arabic language or the feeling you get from understanding the verses in a different way to in the English. Whatever the reason for wanting to learn the Quran one thing is for sure is that the Quran is the word of Allah and reading the Quran is a conversation with Allah.

If you would like to learn how to read the Quran, for whatever reason, there is no time like the present. Quranic Arabic Lessons now available for the early birds.

The word Maula in the Quran

The Word Maula in the Quran

  • Allah is your Maula (Master, Patron, Lord, Helper, Protector), and He is the Best of helpers. (  سورة آل عمران  , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #150)

  • Then they are returned to Allah, their True Maula [True Master (God), the Just Lord (to reward them)]. Surely, for Him is the judgement and He is the Swiftest in taking account. (  سورة الأنعام  , Al-Anaam, Chapter #6, Verse #62)

  • Say: “Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector).” And in Allah let the believers put their trust. (  سورة التوبة  , At-Taubah, Chapter #9, Verse #51)

  • There! Every person will know (exactly) what he had earned before and they will be brought back to Allah, their rightful Maula (Lord), and their invented false deities will vanish from them. (  سورة يونس  , Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #30)

  • So this Day no ransom shall be taken from you (hypocrites), nor of those who disbelieved, (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism). Your abode is the Fire. That is your Maula (friend – proper place), and worst indeed is that destination. (  سورة الحديد  , Al-Hadid, Chapter #57, Verse #15)

5:72

They have certainly disbelieved who say, ” God is the Messiah, the son of Mary” while the Messiah has said, “O Children of Israel, worship God , my Lord and your Lord.” Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
